東京生まれ。聖心女子大学卒業後、広告代理店電通に入社しマーケティング、コーポレート・アイデンティティや広報を担当。1998年米国コロンビア大学国際関係大学院にて修士号取得。企業の社会責任(CSR)を専攻。これまで日米において「企業の社会責任」、「SDGs(持続可能な開発目標)」、「社会起業家」といったビジネス業界を変えるキーワードを普及しコンサルティング活動をしている。日本のオンラインMBAのSBI大学院大学の教員。現在、女子のエンパワーメント(女子力をつける)、ギフト・エコノミー(与え合う経済)の課題に注力している。南カリフォルニアのオーガニック農園での生活と癌の弟の介護をきっかけに、食育、代替医療、バイオ・ハッキングなども活動のテーマ。20年の不動産投資を通じて、カリフォルニア不動産エージェントとしても日米で活躍中。元、東京大学大学院発「人間の安全保障フォーラム」理事、デイビッド・ロックフェラーJr氏の環境保護NPO ”Sailors for the Sea Japan”の理事、目黒区環境審議専門委員会委員。一人娘がいる。 これまで人生の半分を日本、半分を海外(アメリカとオーストラリア)で過ごしてきた。著書に『被災地から日本をよくする100の方法〜ギフト・エコノミーの幕開け(NHK)』,『社会起業家~社会責任ビジネスの新しい潮流(岩波新書)』,『ソーシャルビジネス入門』(日経BP)』など8冊ある。詳細はBooksを参照。
Ms. Saito offers consulting services to clients in the field of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). To date, she has authored and translated eight books on the topics of SDGs/CSR, Social Entrepreneurship, Corporate Ethics, Philanthropy and Gift Economy. Ms. Saito is an active Social Entrepreneur herself and has been teaching those subjects at the MBA program of SBI Graduate School and other universities over 15 years. She is also a real estate agent, utilizing her real estate investment experiences both in the US and abroad for the past 15 years.
While employed at one of the world’s largest advertising agencies, Dentsu, Ms. Saito was a project leader of worldwide events at Dentsu. She was in charge of marketing and PR for the Nagano Winter Olympics in Japan as well as spearheading various projects in conjunction with the United Nations.
Ms. Saito earned her Master’s degree from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. She is a published author of eight business books, including "Social Entrepreneruship," a bestseller in Japan. Her most recently published book, “100 Ways to Change Japan from Tohoku”, demonstrates the transformative power of the “Gift Economy” through 100 real world stories from the aftermath of the massive Tohoku Earthquake and subsequent tsunami in 2011, including the Fukushima Dai-Ichi nuclear power plant meltdown. She is currently working on her memoir to empower girls.
Ms. Saito is now focused on Gift Economy, Empowerment of Girls and Wellbeing through Strategic Interventions (Biohacking). She is a proud mother of a daughter.
